MONTHLY MOVIES AT THE STATE THEATRE OF CULPEPER

We will be going to the State Theatre each month again this year to relax and enjoy great movies in a wonderful venue.  Our first movie date was Wednesday, August 26, when we saw Home. After the movie, we had lunch at Frost Cafe.  Students had the opportunity to practice functional skills in a community setting.

On Wednesday, September 16, we saw The Avengers.  Students and adults all loved this movie.  Afterward, we ate at Atheneans Restaurant.  We enjoyed discussing our favorite characters and scenes in the movie while we enjoyed our delicious meals.

Our first field trip was a golf outing to Highland

Golf Park in Ruckersville on Tuesday, October 6,

followed by lunch at Vinny's New York Pizza.

Students practiced a lifetime leisure skill as well

as good sportsmanship and social skills.

On Wednesday, October 14, we went to the

Harvest Festival at Belvedere Plantation in

Fredericksburg. This trip emphasized

on-the-farm learning as well as fun with

friends.  Each student chose a pumpkin to take home.  Afterward, we enjoyed a delicious buffet

at Cici's Pizza.

On Wednesday, October 21, we saw

Hotel Transylvania followed by lunch

at Chili's.  Students enjoyed using their social

skills to discuss the movie's spooky characters

while enjoying a delicious meal.

On Wednesday, November 18, we saw

Night at the Museum 3.  Students

enjoyed watching this third installment in

the Night at the Museum trilogy.

Afterward students enjoyed socializing with

friends over lunch at Taco Bell.

On Wednesday, December 16, we saw

How the Grinch Stole Christmas.  Everyone enjoyed this version of the movie starring Jim Carrey.  After the movie, we went back to school for a delicious lunch of Little Caesars pizza.

On Thursday, November 19, we went bowling at

Mountain Run Bowling Center.  Students showed

good sportsmanship while practicing lifetime

leisure skills.  Afterward we went to Pete's Pizza

for lunch.
